The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force ( JMSDF ) had commissioned its most advanced submarine the JS Taigei earlier today. The Taigei ( たいげい ) which means big whale is the succesor to the Soryu-class of hunter-killer submarine that is currently the backbone of JMSDF's underwater fleet.
